Impressions about plant

December 30, 2022 Day 36
The ladies just entered pre-flower and are all standing straight up. There was one top branch that was just poking straight up over the rest of the canopy. I put a training clip and leveled that one out. This week we will focus on the stretch and making minor adjustments to the training. Just to keep the canopy level. I noticed that one of them isn't in pre-flower, but the other one is. Maybe today or tomorrow. Either way, they will both be in pre-flower for this week.

Both ladies needed the 2 top main fan leaves cut off finally. They were blocking about 3 bud sites each. There are a bunch more that should go, but I don't want to start snipping at the beginning of pre-flower. I get a bit confused with defoliation. When to do it and when not to with my autoflowers. I did some very light defoliation on them. I was considering taking off more from one of them and see which one does better. But I think I will wait to see how they grow in the 3 gallon pots before I start experimenting. So far, the most I've yielded from one white widow is 2.5 oz. I also ran blueberry autoflowers. The most I yielded in one plant was 4 oz. I have gotten much better and it shows. My canopies are nearly level, I haven't accidentally broken any branches. They are being watered properly. And the environment is nearly perfect.
They have some really nice tops coming up and there are quite a few on each plant.

The ladies needed some adjustments. They were standing too much and needed to be tied down again. I worked the branches around the pot so they take up less space. One of the smaller tops broke when I was trying to remove a training clip. I cut it at the stalk. Already healing. The tie downs opened up an easy 30 bud sites. So now it's just wait for them to pop up. They might not get very tall because of the training, but I expect them to have a ton of colas. We shall see. I would be happy with 24" plants. These are some fantastic ladies. Can't wait to see how they turn out.

The ladies are standing up again. Everything looks great! I decided to defoliate them today. They had too many large leaves covering bud sites and overlapping each other. One didn't need as much as the other, but they both got about 15% snipped off. I may have to snip a couple more here and there.

Today, our ladies are showing their stretch. I had to make a couple of adjustments to level out the canopy on both plants. Just 2 branches that were about an inch taller than the rest. One of them still seems to be in veg more than pre-flower. The other one is definitely in pre-flower. However, I'm wondering if that means these 2 are going to be really big. I guess I'll find out.

Today I had to snip off 2 leaves that were covering bud sites. I noticed that one of them really isn't in pre-flower. The only difference between them is the soil height. The one in pre-flower is about an inch lower than the other. Could be it. I read somewhere that autoflowers can start flowering when they hit the bottom of the container. Maybe, but they are both on the bottom of the pots and starting to move their roots up the containers. They are fabric so air pruning is a thing too. Just interesting.

Today the ladies are starting to stretch more. The tops are all standing straight up with some great internodal spacing. The bushier of the 2 needed a bit of a defoliation. She had a couple lower new shoots that needed to go and a few leaves covering more bud sites. The other one had just a couple of leaves snipped for 3 tops. All in all, these ladies are absolutely gorgeous and super healthy.
However, I was definitely too early in calling pre-flower. It will be this week. Interesting though, one has been in veg for longer than the other ones I've grown. A week or more longer. Strange. Well I hope I end up with some huge plants. The one that is in pre-flower seems to be about half way through.

On a different note, I'll be starting a couple more seeds in about a week. Maybe less. It all depends on what I want to do. I may pick up some new seeds and run those or just run another set of white widows, or a white widow and a blueberry. I want to make sure the larger plant currently in the tent is almost ready. So I have about a week to decide. Just something for future reference.
