Impressions about plant
01/18 (Day 54) - Plants seem to have stopped vertical growth. Tallest point is a bit higher this week (38" vs 37"), but upward growth has tailed off. Brown pistils on the plant (far right) that seems the most progressed. Tried a close-up bud shot, but not too happy with the quality of the photo. I see some amber trichs on the leaves, but not on the bud. I'm going to need to pull the plant out of the tent to get a good shot.
Watering / Nutes - Still using Jack's full strength with silica daily and tribus/recharge/lumina weekly. The watering schedule for the last week or so has been 4 gallons of mix going into the largest 4 plants (gallon each total, half gallon at a time round-robin). Wait a half hour to pull run-off (about 5 quarts) and feed a gallon of the run-off to the fifth plant. Wait a half hour and pull run-off to waste. Sometimes PH the run-off, sometimes not. Ph of fresh mix is always 5.8. First pull of the run-off off the 4 plants is usually about 6.0 and gets adjusted down when I remember.
The days for Tribus/Recharge/Lumina I add Tribus to the full mix and process as normal. After all 5 are watered the run-off (now a bit over half a gallon) gets treated with Lumina and Ph'd again (lots of Ph Up needed). Recharge added. Both Lumina and Recharge are added at the full gallon rate and dispensed around the trunks with 300 ml run-off syringe round-robin until all is consumed.
01/22 (Day 58) - Not much happening in the tent. Upward and outward growth has mostly stopped. Temperature and humidity much easier to control. Plucked a few leaves, but no real defoliation necessary. Plants are drinking less, although I'm sticking with the 4 gallons a day, just getting more run-off.
I noticed I'm getting some indications of what looks like a deficiency in a few leaves. Almost all the leaves look fine, but a few branches are showing discoloration on the leaves of that branch (see photo). I don't think it's light burn, as the discoloration is on parts that aren't particularly close to the light, and the ones that are close aren't having an issue. At this point I'm diagnosing as calcium deficiency as a result of Ph based lockout. I upped the Ph on the mix today from 5.8 to 6.0. I also stopped with the reuse of run-off, although one of the two plants exhibiting problems never saw an ounce of run-off. As per schedule, everyone got a good dose of Tribus Friday, and Recharge and Lumina today. If problems continue I may drop the Lumina from the schedule, as it is not Ph-friendly, is a pain in the ass, and is the only real change I've made recently after 2 months with no problems. At this point the leaf damage is on probably less than 1% of the total.
