Impressions about plant

12/27 (Day 32) - Cleaned out the shoots and leaves from the bottom stems, and did a little defol higher. Not much room to work. Bent the tallest shoots sideways to try and even the canopy out. 3 quarts of run-off in bucket. Drained trays when I trimmed and got maybe half a quart into the sink.

12/28 (Day 33) - Can't tell I did anything yesterday, other than the bottom. Much cleaner and easier to access. One definitely showing flowers, the rest appear to be about 3 days behind.

12/29 (Day 34) - Started feeding a gallon each daily. Runoff maybe a little better than a gallon.

12/30 (Day 35) - Raised the light a bit. Canopy keeps creeping up. We're still in stretch.

12/31 (Day 36) - Raised it again. 4 plants with flowers now. Fifth is a couple days behind at most. Interestingly, the fifth is not the smallest of the plants. Added the UVA light to the setup. Running on a cycle timer, 30 minutes on and 15 minutes off.

01/01 (Day 37) - Happy new year. Performed a major defol this morning. Pulled fan leaves, cut shoots that weren't ever going to make it to the light. Lollipopped. Also removed the LST ties. I don't think they were doing much after the initial canopy spread. Now growth is primarily directed UP. Need the LST 90 degree clips that I ordered. Maybe. Watering should be easier. I'm hoping RH goes down with the reduction in leaves. The plant that is last in the flower race had HUGE leaves. They all needed a trim badly. The lower deck was like a hippie girl's undercarriage. Completely wild and overgrown.

Installed a duct from the SF fan to the HVAC return to try and control heat in the room.
Had to raise the light again today. No small measures this time. 20 inches above the center canopy (shortest plant. 15 above the canopy nearest the light of the perimeter plants. All perimeter plants oriented with highest growth on the outside. Hitting somewhere between 700 and 1100 PPFD on most areas (45-71 DLI). Corners are suffering a bit on PPFD. Closer to 400.

Highest tops are 26" above dirt. Most of the rest of the canopy is about 21".

HVAC ducting didn't do much. Turned the fan to max and blocked off the gaps w/ painters tape.

01/02 (Day 38) - Things to note:
* Began a quarter turn clockwise on the pots daily, except for the shorty. She gets taken out for watering the back plants, and I'll not even try to remember the orientation going back in.
* Noticed that the color of the leaves changes as they get into real flower. When developing it's a more vibrant green than once flowers are present. With flowers on, it's a darker / duskier look. Who knew?
* I'm a freaking dummy. Well, I think we all already knew that - but this time I have evidence. The UVA light is set for 30 minutes on and 15 minutes off while the main lights are on. Every time I'm in the tent fluorescent stuff glows. You'd think I'd hit an off time now and then. I set a repeating timer for 10 minutes and kept rechecking. All glowy. Read the instructions on the cycle timer. I did everything right. Damned Chinese hacks. Rechecked the settings and I'm at 30 minutes on and 15 seconds off. Doh!

Don't know if I put it in earlier, but running straight up Jack's 321 since going into pots. Using the latest ratios - 3.8, 2.5, 1.0. Tribus treatment at label concentration (1/4 / gal?) on Fridays for full bucket. Recharge on Saturday at probably more than recommended dosage for 12-16 oz per plant over main trunk after watering is done.

Used the new LST clips on 3 of the stretchers and broke one. For those keeping score at home, that's a 660 batting average. Great in baseball, sucks in plant management. Revise that - I supercropped one. Currently fully busted stem at 90 degrees, but outer husk still intact. If what I read is correct it will be fine. I guess we'll see tomorrow.

The first 2 to flower seem to have slowed upward growth. The shorty is still the shorty, but now higher than the last to flower. The fourth to flower shot up 6" overnight (I swear it's true!). The laggard in flowering is expected to shoot for the moon in the next day or two. Stay tuned.

01/03 (Day 39) - Looked in the tent this morning and the busted stem has already bent to the sky. I think less than 12 hours and it turns 90 at the break, goes 3 or 4 inches then bent itself 90 upwards for another 3 inches. I think I'll be popping some stems tonight. Explosive growth upward on that plant. 3 seem to be done stretching, 1 should be finishing in a day or two, and the last should be beginning in a day or two. Popped shorty onto a hardback copy of The Stand (S. King). Thick mother that brought the canopy up near the others. Time to raise the light tonight and bend over the 6-8 tallest stems in the tent.

Evening - I did the pinch-and-roll on 3 or 4 of the highest stems. All are tipped over 90 degrees. We'll see how things look in the morning before further abuse ensues.
