Impressions about plant
Day 49 since seeds planted. Time to transition to light 12/12 flowering stage.
Conditions: 1.5mS/cm. Ph 5.5 , CO2=900ppm, Light 12/12 @ 1000PPFD, Day 80F. Night 70F(min) RH Day 50% Night 40%
Hydro growth has been great with three of the gals. It’s been one week since the addition of supplemental CO2 raising the original CO2 levels from 400ppm .. to not 600ppm but.. 900ppm! Using about 2lbs of CO2 on the 18/6 light schedule for 1 week. Will have plenty in the 15lb tank to bring the gals thru flower and harvest to the remaining CO2 with the now 12/12 light schedule.
Looking at the photos you can see, it’s clear the one of the gals is a “Dud”.
This is a perfect example of a seed with poor genetics. All four have had exactly the same growing conditions. I can actually see in a time lapse video (posted soon) that the fourth gal just hit a brick wall in growth . While there is clearly a difference in the leaf structure, very small leaves, close/microscope examination shows there is no evidence of it being a hematite or any other disease or infestation.
Instead of just pulling the dud. I’m going to take the opportunity to mist her with a solution of silver as we start the flowering stage, which I am making up now (more on that next week) and see if I can get her transitioned to producing pollen sacks. If successful I will then pull her before the now “HE” is fully developed.
From the photo you can see the amount of water used during the first 6 week is down just perfectly for the tank to be topped off with fresh water, Ph & nutrient adjusted for flowering stage. Lastly a quick check of all 4 watering rings shows no issues with clogging and there is no algae growth because of the grow media being covered with the cut to size, white ceiling tiles. All 4 are getting a nice even drink every 15 minutes for 20 seconds.
