Day 91. Week six of 12/12 light flowering stage.
Conditions: 1.2mS/cm. (lowered from 1.5) Ph 5.8, CO2 = 1000ppm, Light 12/12 @ 1000 - 1100 PPFD, Day 80F. Night 70F (min.) RH Day 40% Night 40%. Now running dehumidifier to drive down RH to the required level.
Three girls continue to mature nicely. Started to see some starting of yellowing of the very tips of the leaves when raised the nutrients to 1.5mS/cm. Added water till back at 1.2mS/cm. and luckily the yellowing of the tips dissipated back to a nice green.
Took one of the white ceiling tiles cover off the one 10 gallon “Earth Box” grow container so you can see the Hydrotron / Watering ring set up. Covering the Hydrotron kept algae from growing. No plugging of watering rings after 13 weeks.
Did take the $180 plunge and purchased the Growers Choice Aux UV-B dual lights to add to the Growers Choice 720. There are conflicting peer reviewed papers published on the effectiveness, detrimental effect of adding UV. The consensus is, if used, it should be in the last few weeks of flower. Given this grow is in the mature stages of flower, running the Aux UV-B for 3 hours mid 12-hour light cycle @ just 25% power as a start. May pump up the UV-B power output next week. Watching leaves and bud closely. Had such good grow results without the Aux UV-B, using the same starter seeds. Should have at least some, basis for comparison.
Did cull the one Cola that was forced to produce pollen sacs by spraying with Ag solution. Placed it in 5.9Ph x 1.0 ms/cm water, in a temperature / humidly controlled aquarium for two weeks where it did well. When a considerable number of pollen sacs. we’re starting to open, harvested pollen.
Weather is expected to go downhill this week. (Central NY). Just might build a pollen separator, see pic.
