Impressions about plant

May 7, 2022
Week 5 of flower. She's almost there. She's on straight distilled water now. Finally got her foliage under something of control. Just a hand full of leaves and finally I'm comfortable. Her colas are just... Wow. I did try to do a small test to estimate her weight. Maybe 1 lb of total plant. That's my guess. No clue how much the actual buds will weigh, I'm guessing around 5 to 6 oz but that's just high hopes. Watch me be totally wrong and have like nothing. Hahahaha. Definitely not. Her colas are almost as big as my first plant each. Haha. That was about a quarter ounce. And Moonlight has bud EVERYWHERE. And soooo much bigger in everyway possible. Not to mention how healthy Moonlight is compared to Agent Widow. In reality, she might yield 2 ounces. Imma keep my theme of night time names. Twilight Sparkle is next. (Who doesn't like my little pony?) Anyway, after all of my defoliation, poking and prodding and generally screwing with her, she shows absolutely no signs of stress. Wow!

She's starting to take in less water. So close! I might start jamming out with her and write a couple of songs. Haha. Get her groove going. Other than that, I'm having a tiny bit of trouble getting her temp and humidity perfect. Currently I'm at 74° F and 41% humidity. Not bad, but not PERFECT. I'm looking for 45% and around 72° F.

I didn't see any difference from yesterday to today. Just ripening up I guess? But I did try to find a decent comparison. So my hand worked out nicely. She has some awesome colas. So tall. So dense. Her main cola is the same height, but about 3 times fatter. The blumats were actually a bit clogged from the flower booster I have. Lesson learned. Now they are free flowing and immediately started running much better. I still have to bottom feed a bit. This morning I fed her 500ml through the bottom. I have been spraying the top soil just to keep it from getting arid and dusty. All distilled water of course. She still has some time left.

Just adjusting the environment and watching her trichomes multiply. Not much else to do. Honestly, I can't tell if she is even swelling anymore. Maybe she is right there and just getting nice and ripe. Maybe the end of the week. Maybe beginning of next week. We shall see. Either way, she is super close to harvest. I'm not running a flush, but I do believe I should run a little bit extra distilled water for the next day or 2. I'd like to see a bit of yellowing before her dark time. I have read good things about the 48 hour darkness time before harvest. I'm still sticking with the 14th.

Last night I defoliated as much of Moonlight as I could and popped off a few more this morning that I missed. She still has a lot of leaves on her but they all have trichomes. So I'll only cut the leaf part that isn't covered in trichomes, then trim the rest after drying. I also did a semi flush this morning. I'm using super soil, so I know she doesn't really need it. But I figure it wouldn't be a bad idea for a semi flush. (water more than usual from the top.) I'm going to stop feeding all together on Friday. Saturday will be a 48 hour dark period and then harvest. Bud wash, drying rack, jars for 2 months.

She looks perfectly on point. Today is day 76 from seed. She's dense, aromatic and healthy. Her pistils are nearly there. A few lower buds are sticking out still. And trichomes are almost ready as well. Plenty of milky, but not quite enough. Also not enough amber either. Perfect timing. Today is the last day of watering. I'll be pulling the blumats tonight before lights out. Tomorrow is day one of starvation and Saturday will begin her 48 hours dark period before harvest. Nearly there! So very excited!

Friday the 13th! Love this day! Harvest tomorrow. I decided against my little tricks I read about. She won't be out of water and I'd rather keep the light schedule the same. Not enough experience to start screwing around. DWC is the next trial anyway. Slow and steady. Moonlight smells so good and so very potent. I cannot wait to taste those beautiful buds. I am, however going to run a bud wash again. Too much stuff in the air. Dust, cat fur, me fur, little dander hairs. And whatever else is being caught in her resin. BUT! We just had an air purifier installed in our HVAC system, and I already have an exhaust. So air should be fantastic in a few days. Just in time for my new grow. Anyway, Moonlight, I did a quick squeeze test and those colas feel super solid. Dense and STICKY! So very sticky. She's not tall, but her bud is where it counts. I couldn't be more proud of myself and how she came out, especially compared to my first grow. So healthy and lush for the entire grow. So much excite!
Update: I have been looking and looking at her pistils and trichomes. I honestly don't know if she needs a few more days or not. I mean, she isn't showing any signs of yellowing leaves, her trichomes are everywhere, but sparse amber. They might mostly be cloudy, but I feel like I'm seeing it wrong and they are mostly clear. I guess I'll look tomorrow and everyday until she seems ready. Or she is and I'll be harvesting tomorrow
