Impressions about plant
Today's pH check shows that in all three plants the pH is dropping. Last week the average was 4.2 today is 3.5. I am using Ocean Forest soil, and the pH is 6.2 straight out of the bag, I verified this by purchasing two new bags and testing both with a new digital meter that I spent more money on than I really cared to but I digress. The brown spots on the Cali Dream plant have gotten worse, starting on the uppermost foliage, indicating CALMAG lockout from the low pH.
I now believe the cause of the pH drop is due to additional fertilizers that I added to soil before planting the seedlings. The additional fertilizers were added at the bottom of the fabric pot and I thought I mixed it up well enough but that is not the case. I can insert the digital meter slowly into the soil and watch as the number drops inch by inch of insertion. When completely inserted, the meter read 3.0!
At this point I have no other choice but to repot into fresh unaltered soil with no nutrients added at all.
Photos are post repotting and show definite stress droop. I hope that works out over the next couple of days.
